Elaine Weinstein

Executive Vice President

Elaine brings a unique combination of finance and energy sector experience which has provided the companies for which she has worked with a seasoned and strategic human resource executive.

Prior to joining Mullin & Associates, Elaine was Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Chief Diversity and Ethics Officer for KeySpan Corporation, a Fortune 500 company and largest distributor of natural gas and electric transmission service in the Northeast United States. 

Elaine’s scope of responsibilities included the entire Human Resource function, including compensation and benefits design, workforce planning, executive staffing, talent management and EEO/Diversity for over 20,000 active employees and retirees.  Elaine has personally led the culture and change management initiative organically creating a change agent network, as KeySpan integrated two major acquisitions.  The organization design of Human Resources at KeySpan was originated by Elaine who introduced Centers of Expertise, Business Partners and a Shared Services model.  This design reduced operating costs by 24% and improved service significantly.

Managing the Ethics and Diversity Office, Elaine reported to the Governance and Nominating Committee of the Board regularly on compliance issues, best practice diversity initiatives and confidential issues addressed by the ethics policy.  Elaine is responsible for the introduction of affinity groups which have contributed to KeySpan’s employee brand.  KeySpan is a unionized company and Elaine directed the negotiation of 15 collective bargaining agreements.

Prior to her role at KeySpan, Elaine was Vice President at Merrill Lynch and Company.  Her human resource responsibilities were in support of Operations, Systems and Telecommunications, a 12,000 person division supporting six countries for the multinational brokerage and financial institution.

Elaine currently serves on three non-profit Boards.  She is the Secretary/Trustee for The Nature Conservancy; Audit Committee Member/Trustee for the KeySpan Foundation; Trustee for the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Elaine advises large scale construction companies in the energy sector, on executive compensation, succession and organizational design strategies.

Elaine is quoted regularly in business and human resource publications regarding best practice human resource strategies in corporate America.

A graduate of Brooklyn College and holds an honorary Ph.D from St. Joseph’s College, she resides with her husband in New York City.
