Happy MLK Day to you. I am extremely happy to report that I have accepted a
position with an online startup backed by the Chairman Emeritus. It's a great
role because I will be adding sales and digital experience to my skill set.
I can't think of two more useful areas in which to gain expertise today.
We will be building a network of hyperlocal online news sites, starting in
the Northeast. I start right away; my first day is next week. Over the
past week and weekend we went through four rounds of negotiation including
my saying, "No Thank You." At the end we both compromised and
I was able to increase my base compensation. I know I had the confidence
to negotiate from a strong position and to be smart about not making both sides
feel like winners thanks to your training sessions.
I cannot thank you enough for all the brilliant writing that you did for me

thanks to you. I am convinced that your direction on how to and how not
to write a follow up note also played a huge role in my knocking out three
other candidates.

Many thanks for your note and kind words of encouragement. I started at my new firm right before Christmas and then headed off with the family to spend Christmas with my parents. It was a very enjoyable time for many reasons as I am sure you can imagine.The new position is a bit of a departure from my previous role(s), but the responsibilities have many overlaps with the skills I had developed in my former industry. Learning to break down my skill sets and effectively marketing them individually was integral in getting the position. All the work and support of the various people at Mullin (with my Consultant being brilliant) was incredibly important. My old industry was decimated and the current job market is hyper-competitive. Constant coaching and encouragement kept me going and got me through the rough patches.
