Expert guidance underlies everything that we do ...
You wouldn't believe me if I told you but ever since I changed my resume to the one you showed me I have been getting a lot more calls. Anyway, I went for a second interview with a company yesterday and today the recruiter started to call my references. He says once I pass my reference, credit and criminal checks they will make me an offer. However, I have another interview with a company next Wednesday and I hope that goes just as well. I never figured this much action for this time of year but I'll take it. Have a great new year and I will let you know how things shake out.

In touch from abroad … keeping us
posted ...
Thanks so much for letting me join your seminars. They were incredibly helpful
with all your smart advice. They helped me develop a great plan of attack. I
am finally going to be able to focus on all of my job search “To Dos” next
week. At this very moment we are tasting wines in the Piedmont region
of Italy. Tomorrow night we return to London where we'll cook a holiday meal
for our British hosts. I will be in touch next week.

Marketing tools made
the difference!
"I have got nothing but great feedback about the resume from everyone
that has seen it - including target companies, recruiters, colleagues and partners. I cannot thank you enough for the help you provided me with this, I don't think
I would have ever been able to pull it together. Thanks again."
"And I love the new resume thank you so much I really appreciate all that you have done since our initial meeting."

Well I landed ... 3
actually ...
I landed in the last few weeks, I actually had an offer from every single opportunity
I mentioned to you in December, and selected the company that wanted me to
run the West Coast for them in a year or so. They put down the best
offer and opportunity.
Just wanted to let you know and say Happy New Year as well.

the seminars. I always felt more hopeful after attending the seminars and I

When multi-level preparation meets opportunity ... managing the recruiter's
phone interview ...
"Thank you for the great prep for my call yesterday with the search firm. Amazingly,
(thanks to you) I was totally prepared for all the balls tossed at me - hard
and soft. The call lasted an hour and a half. Aside from having to talk about
myself, it was actually rather fun. I think it went well and he said he'd call
me mid next week with next steps. I'll fill you in with the details when I see
you. Thank you again! Also, the book you sent came today. Again, more thanks."

Interview preparation leads to job offer
excitement ... and endorsements ...
"I just got the verbal offer less than an hour ago! Paperwork will
arrive tomorrow via FedEx. I told them I have no reason to say “no” but
I’ll give an official yes on Monday after getting the paperwork. I’ll
probably start a week from Monday! I’m happy and they seem excited too. I want to thank you again so very much for all of your advice and support. Without it, I may very well have blown that last interview. If ever I can do
anything for you in return don’t hesitate to ask. If there’s someone
at Mullin I can sing your praises to I’d be happy to do that as well."

A true transformation: being open & receptive
to advice and counsel makes a difference ...
"While searching for a job, there were three factors I felt stood out
from the beginning (sending resumes) to the end (finding a desirable position). The
first took me a while to accept. Before getting any help from Mullin & Associates,
I felt my resume was very informative, read well, and was properly formatted. I
was very resistant to change. Mullin & Associates did not trash my resume
and start from scratch. My Consultant gradually worked to open up my resume.
We added a summary, reworked some of my accomplishments, created more white
space, and made the resume desirable for someone to briefly read or read in
depth, whichever was preferred. My resume became more receptive and I believe
I got more people to read it.
Another part of the Mullin & Associates experience I found helpful was practicing for an interview. Again, I thought my interviewing skills were good; I felt I was good on my feet. However, my Consultant helped me prepare for questions, eliminating rambling, and getting to the point. I realized my talking points could be lost in chatter, so we narrowed my speaking points to concise, meaningful, and informative speech. We also made sure my personality came out. I had a few bad interviews, but it wasn't because of what I said. The interviewers didn't seem interested to learn anything about me. It happens. Eventually, I had an interview and was able to use all the talking points I had practiced, also inserting my personality. As a result, I received a job offer soon afterwards.
Lastly, one interviewer that looked kindly upon me stated I was very qualified for the job I wanted and would be qualified for much more. Even though I didn't get the job (I was interviewed afterwards by people that weren't interested in hearing from me for whatever reason), he let me know I should not hang my head and should not strive for positions of a lesser degree. I should think highly of my capabilities and not be swayed into applying only for jobs I know I can do. Apply for challenging jobs, jobs that test yourself, jobs that coincidentally pay more as well. In short, don't short-change yourself. If there is a position you think you can do, even though you don't fit every qualification, apply for it and you might be surprised. I took that advice and am very happy I did."
